  • 1960 In the 1960’s, fire fighting teams in the Philippines were only a handful, with no advanced equipments to speak of. More often than not, the victims could only watch helplessly as the fires engulf their homes and properties.
  • 1976 March 01, 1976: 5 active fire-fighting groups in the community united under the name Association of Philippine Volunteer Fire Brigades, Inc. They were:

    1. South San Nicolas Fire Prevention Association, Inc.
    2. Pasay Volunteer Fire Brigade
    3. Manila Zone 28 North Binondo Fire Prevention Association
    4. East Binondo Fire Prevention Association
    5. New Market Merchants Association Fire Prevention Unit
  • 1993 June 30, 1993: A Presidential Citation award was given to the Association for its services to the community by then President Fidel V. Ramos.
  • 1996 On its 20th anniversary in 1996, the association reached another milestone as it established its first ever foundation, the Association of Philippine Volunteer Fire Brigades Foundation, Inc.
  • 1999 October 30, 1999: A ground breaking ceremony for the Association’s headquarters was held at the building site, with the honorary Dr. Lucio Tan as the guest of honor.
  • 2000 August 10, 2000: Ateneo de Manila University presented the Association with a Public Service Award for Pioneering and Exemplary Public Service.
  • 2001 February 25, 2001: The Association Headquarters in Quirino, Manila, was finally completed and inaugurated.
